The Proper Picture Company is an alliance of leading film professionals who have all made award-winning international feature films. They have teamed up to make some great movies in the coming years.
Their skills cover every aspect of film-making from writing to directing and funding to production, post and distribution – both independent and studio projects. The team includes Brendan Foley (The Riddle, Johnny Was), Ned Dowd (Apocalypto, Last of the Mohicans), Lars Hermann (In a Better World, As White As In Snow) and Shelly Goldstein (Shelldon, Behind the Music).
Now they are working together on a slate of outstanding films, all based on award-winning screenplays or best-selling books. In short, the Proper Picture Co is making “proper pictures” - story-led, visually exciting international movies that will stand the test of time and engage an audience as only great movies can. The Proper Picture Co.’s first slate includes UNDER THE WIRE, based on the WWII great escape bestseller, EASTER RISING, the prize-winning story of Dublin’s 1916 Uprising, and ISLAND ANGEL, a multi award-winning romantic comedy.
